Jen Lothridge.

BOARD MEMBER.

Jen (she/her/ella), is first & foremost a human being that's enjoying LIFE on purpose!!!  Caliy Girl to the core.  Born & raised most of her life in San Diego, while also having opportunities to live in other areas & states on this planet.  She appreciates nature, kite flying, roller skating, & all things caramel among many other fun things in life!!!

Honored & privileged serving as a Board Member of POZabilities, Jen also supports the HIV/AIDS community by actively volunteering time & support to local committees such as the San Diego County HIV Planning Group Community Engagement Group, Owen Clinic & HNRP CAB’s. Currently a Bachelor of Social Work & Gerontology student at San Diego State University "Go Aztecs!!!" & the Aging & Research Program Supervisor of Christie’s Place.

In addition to her own personal experience with the love & deep connection to the legacy of LOVE that continues growing at Christie’s Place, she values the opportunity to connect with, learn from & empower others walking in similar shoes as herself. Jen has over 20 years of experience in Social Services dedicated to providing Person Centered Care & knowledge empowerment to individuals of all ages while having a special interest in individuals aging gracefully while seeking supportive services.

Jen is passionately embracing the opportunity of helping others forgive the unspeakable past actions that have taken place without &/or improper informed consent in the name of “Research & Advancement of Medicine”.  Especially in the Black/African American populated spaces she shares with other women. Desiring that research participation is seen in a positive & beneficial light.  Promoting the importance of informed consent in a harm-reduction & trauma-informed way is essential. This is how helping others forgive, heal, & rebuild trust in medical spaces & opportunities to participate in clinical trials & studies are steps leading towards receiving better health care from providers.

Jen hopes that research participation can be seen as a positive & beneficial way of giving back to humanity in some instances.  We all need to do our part while on this planet!!!
